[Ingredients Needed]

Bulgogi Patties (approximately 6)

  • Ground brisket: 1 1/2 cups (250g)
  • Ground pork shoulder: 1 1/2 cups (250g)
  • Soy sauce: 4 tbsp (40g)
  • Granulated sugar: 5 tbsp (50g)
  • Potato starch: 2 tbsp (20g)
  • Minced garlic: 2 tbsp (30g)
  • Black pepper: 1/2 tbsp (2g)
  • Sesame oil: 3 tbsp (30g)
  • Cooking oil: As needed

Burger (per serving)

  • Hamburger bun: 1
  • Lettuce: 3 leaves
  • Onion: 1/6 (30g)
  • Cheddar cheese slices: 1
  • Bulgogi patties: 3 (150g)
  • Stick butter: 1/8 (10g)
  • Ketchup: As needed
  • Mayonnaise: As needed

[Instructions]

Preparing the Bulgogi Patties

1. Making the meat mixture:
In a large bowl, combine the ground brisket, ground pork shoulder, soy sauce, granulated sugar, potato starch, minced garlic, and pepper. Mix well with your hands.
Tip: Kneading the meat thoroughly will make the bulgogi more chewy and tender.

2. Adding sesame oil:
Add sesame oil to the well-mixed mixture and knead again until smooth.

3. Shaping the patties:
Divide the mixture into ping-pong ball-sized portions, roll them into balls, and then flatten them into patties using your palm.
Tip: A patty thickness of about 1cm is easy to cook and will retain its moisture.

Cooking the Bulgogi

4. Preheat a frying pan over medium heat and add a little cooking oil.
5. Add the patties and cook until golden brown on both sides.
Tip: Make sure one side is fully cooked before flipping to prevent the patties from breaking.

Preparing the hamburger buns

6. Cut the hamburger buns in half and toast them in a frying pan with melted butter.
Tip: Toasting over low heat will result in a crispy bun with enhanced flavor.

Preparing the ingredients

7. Preparing the vegetables:
Thinly slice the onion and wash and dry the lettuce.

Assembling the Burger

1. Place 2-3 lettuce leaves on the bottom half of the toasted bun.
2. Top with one bulgogi patty and add a little ketchup.
3. Add the second bulgogi patty, and top with a slice of cheddar cheese.
Tip: Adding the cheese while the patties are hot will allow it to melt naturally, making it tastier.
4. Top with the third bulgogi patty, add the sliced onions, and drizzle with mayonnaise.
5. Finally, cover with the top half of the bun.

[Finishing Tips]

  • Side dishes:
Serving with french fries, pickles, and cola will complete a meal that rivals any fast-food restaurant.
  • Creative ideas:
Adding gochujang (Korean chili paste) or barbecue sauce instead of soy sauce to the patties will create a unique bulgogi burger flavor.
  • Storage tips:
Bulgogi patties can be made in advance and frozen for easy use later.

[Flavor Points]

  • The combination of two types of meat (brisket and pork shoulder) makes the bulgogi tender and flavorful.
  • The cheese and sauce blend together to create a savory and nutty flavor.
  • You can easily enjoy a fast-food style burger at home, making it perfect for special occasions or family gatherings.

Make a special burger at home with Baek Jong-won style Bulgogi Burger! 😊
